These Family Photos Look Identical, But They Were Actually Taken Years Apart

Like Mother, Like Daughter

Reddit / yessykeena

No matter how hard you might try, you can't escape genetics. And it's no surprise that many family members look ridiculously similar. But as you're about to see, sometimes the resemblance is so uncanny you'll think they're looking in a mirror. Take, for example, Reddit user Yessykeena who recreated the photo on the left of her mother holding her firstborn son (and Yessykeena’s older brother) 41 years ago to capture just how much she looks like her mother. It's uncanny! And she's not the only one...

Daddy's Little Girl

Huffington Post

The apple certainly doesn't fall far from the tree. As Clare Reed Rossetto shared this photo of her husband at age five on the right and their four-year-old daughter on the left. Same eyebrows? Check. Same eyes? Check. Same nose? Check? Same mouth and chin? Check and checkmate. There's no denying that they're related!

And Eleventh Generation Descendant Of Abraham Lincoln

Blogging Is Overrated

How amazing is this? Ralph C. Lincoln is an eleventh generation Lincoln who also shares the same great-grandfather as one of America’s greatest presidents. If you visit Fayette County in Pennsylvania, you will find a small, obscure cemetery where members of the Lincoln family are buried, including Abraham Lincoln’s great uncle Mordecai, who served in the revolutionary war, and his son Benjamin. Mordecai Lincoln is his fifth- generation great-grandfather, which makes him a third cousin of the President.

Boys Will Be Boys

People

Don't they look all dressed up and fancy and ready for a big event? What you're seeing isn't a couple pictures from the same event, but rather two men pose together at a wedding, left, and 30 years later both of their sons pictured together in the same pose on their way to a different wedding. I think it's safe to say that both inherited their father's good looks.

Daddy's Little Boy

Reddit / robinsonirwin

Okay, this is getting a little bit freaky now because it totally looks like the same father and son. But it's not, obviously, because that would be too easy. Instead the man on the right recreated and old photo of his dad holding him in 1983, and then showed him holding his son 2014. All that's really missing is the glasses to make it complete!

Lady In Red

Christine McConnell

Like most daughters, Christine McConnell grew up being told how much she and her mother look alike. When Christine turned 32, she received her mother’s red dress and relived the photograph that her mom took when she was 32. As you can see, the results are kind of amazing. My only question is, "Is that the same chair, too?"

Skipping Generations

Cat Dumb

This looks as if someone has gone back in time to recreate an incredible photo, but really it's just the granddaughter proving that even over generations, genetics can create some amazing resemblances. Even though these two photos were taken 87 years apart, they have the same smile, the same spirit, and the same look.

Tie One On

Pinterest / MyHeritage

There's really nothing cuter than a little boy wearing a tie, even if that's the last thing he wants to be doing. Here we have a great-great-grandfather and a great-great-grandson — both sporting a tie, although a little bit different and style — and the resemblance is like they're looking in a mirror. The only difference being is it looks like one is missing a tooth!

Split Screen

QPic

What are we even looking at here?!? That would be a mom and her son, although it looks like we're taking a glance at the same person. Sure, her eyelashes are a bit longer and of course, there's the whole hair situation, but when it comes to the basic features? They could practically be twins.

Rock And Roll

Blogspot

Do you want to rock and roll all night and party every day? This dad did, and it would appear that he passed down that gene — along with all the other ones — to his rocking and rolling son. I think the son's guitar is a little bit more attractive, but he is also missing the gold chains and, of course, that mustache! Although maybe that's a good thing, as they can look kind of creepy.

Here Kitty, Kitty

Blogspot

In the top picture we have a lovely moment captured between father and son. The dad has lovingly placed his young son on his chest and even though the kid looks a little bit shocked, I'm sure he's digging the bonding time. But not as much as that same son is digging the bonding time with his cat in the picture below. Hey! Kids aren't for everyone! And a cat will love you just the same. Plus, you know, no diapers.

Pretty As A Picture

Epoch Times

There's something to be said for the grace and class that women had generations ago. There was just something about their look that was so well-put together. And somehow this granddaughter was able to capture that same look as her grandmother — from the clothes and jewelry right down to the hair — more than fifty years later.

Say "Cheese!"

Trend Mutti

It looks like the Tooth Fairy is going to have to pay someone a visit! But first he will have to go back in time to this mother who had her daughter recreate the same photo more than 20 years later. True, the little girl on the right doesn't have bangs, but that's probably a pretty good evolution in the hair department. Otherwise, spitting image!

A Chip Off The Ol' Block

Yimg

Okay, up until this point we've seen a lot of pictures that made us say, "Holy crap. Yup! They're related." But this father and son? I think they take the cake. The son on the right has his father's facial expression and haircut down to a tee. Not to mention the wide collared shirt and tank top, which he must have borrowed from his old man to recreate his dad's pose because there couldn't be many of those just hanging around anymore.

The Hair Up There

Imgur / Jadesanctuary

Let's be real and say that most of our yearbook photos are pics that we would most like want to forget. High school is just awkward, but apparently "awkward" isn't part of the genetic makeup of this mom and daughter. The one on the left is the mom, and twenty years later the daughter pretty much recreated her mom's look for her own yearbook picture. Two words: Picture perfect.
